GWM Ora 5 EV Launched in Nepal, Priced from Rs 46.99 Lakh

Great Wall Motor (GWM) has officially launched its premium electric SUV, the Ora 5 EV, in the Nepali market.

According to the company, Nepal has been selected as one of the key international markets for the Ora 5 EV's expansion, following its introduction in China and Thailand. Developed under the concept of "Designed with Intelligence, Shaped by Elegance," the electric SUV combines modern technology, premium design, advanced safety features, and a range of comfort-focused amenities.

The launch ceremony featured representatives from GWM Nepal and GWM China, who jointly unveiled the vehicle and highlighted the growing potential of electric mobility in Nepal.

Ltd., the authorized distributor of GWM vehicles in Nepal, stated that the Ora 5 EV has been introduced with the needs of Nepali customers, local road conditions, and modern lifestyles in mind. The company believes the model will offer a smart, safe, and sustainable mobility solution for the market.

The Ora 5 EV is available in two variants. Under a special introductory offer, the Mid Variant has been priced at Rs. 46.99 lakh, while the Top Variant is available for Rs. 51.99 lakh.

One of the key highlights of the Ora 5 EV is its claimed NEDC driving range of up to 520 km on a full charge. The SUV comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof, premium seats, a 360-degree surround-view camera, a 180-degree chassis-view camera, 200 mm ground clearance, and self-healing paint technology.

In terms of safety, the Ora 5 EV has received both 5-star ANCAP and 5-star Euro NCAP safety ratings, according to the company. Safety equipment includes seven airbags and more than 20 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features, such as Lane Keep Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Traffic Sign Recognition.

GWM currently operates in more than 170 countries and regions worldwide and claims to have sold over 10 million vehicles globally. The automaker says its 35 years of experience, significant investments in research and development, and focus on quality have helped establish it as one of the world's leading automotive brands.

Company officials at the event reiterated their commitment to bringing world-class technology, safety, and premium mobility experiences to Nepali consumers amid growing demand for electric vehicles. They expressed confidence that the Ora 5 EV will set new benchmarks for smart, safe, and environmentally friendly transportation in Nepal.
